1820s - Photography was first realized
1850s - dry plates were used but had long exposure times
1880s - first used gelatin plates and was much more instantaneous
1888 - The Kodak is invented, first mobile Camera.
1900s - Kodak switches most everyone to celluloid film dominate industry
1972 - Polaroid XS-70 is the first camera to provide instant access to photos, no wait for developing photos
- Steve Sasson and Kodak invent first ever digital Camera, 0.01 MP resolution
1988 - FujiFilm invents Fuji ds-1p - first Commercially available digital camera, 2 MB storage capacity
Late 1980s - the first wave of digital cameras
1990s - Digital cameras gain more storage capacity, higher resolution, and image quality
2000s - Advancements in image quality and storage only continue
today - Modern cameras are on virtually every cellphone yet image quality remains high, the biggest advancements are the shrinking of the camera itself while the quality only continues to reach higher. Storage capacity is constantly increasing as well.
